Upon earning her degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Starr Miller transitioned into the realm of consulting. Her journey led her to a pivotal role with an online fashion brand specializing in high-end labels, offering her a firsthand view of the intricate design and purchasing processes. This exposure, coupled with her formal education in stone setting and goldsmithing, sparked Starr's creative passion, particularly in the realm of fine jewelry.
From a modest workspace in her unfinished Atlanta basement, Starr progressed to establish her studio in Westside Atlanta's Strongbox West. Embracing a holistic approach to learning, she honed her skills through mentorship, hands-on training, and the insights gleaned from invaluable textbooks. Starr dedicated herself to achieving a professional level of expertise, undergoing courses with esteemed figures such as master stone setter Blaine Lewis at The New Approach for Jewelers, master wax carver Kate Wolf, and Brooklyn-based jewelry designer Erin Considine.
Starr's commitment to craftsmanship, forward-thinking design, and intentional creation is evident as she meticulously crafts each piece in her line. In a world that often advocates for grandiosity, Pieces of Starr stands as a testament to intentional, artisanal craftsmanship that remains true to Starr's vision and passion.
