Nuria Ruiz’s childhood was one entrenched in the arts, born into a family of jewelers and art collectors in Geneva, Switzerland. At the age of 19, she began her studies and graduated with a degree in gemology, and proceeded to further hone her craft studying Fine Arts at La Massana and Escola de la Lllotja. Nuria Ruiz has been elevating jewelry design to a fine art since she opened her first store in Barcelona, Spain in 1977. Specializing in mineral and ethnic jewelry, each piece Nuria creates exudes elegance and originality and magically merges the luxury inspired by masters like Cartier and cultural sources such as fluid African technique. This diverse aesthetic fusion gives rise to wearable, sculptural art that is both beautiful and eclectic, functional and chic.
