Before Erica Molinari ever picked up a graver or touched a torch, she was hurtling down an ice track at Olympic speeds. Literally. A two-time U.S. Olympic Luge Team member (Calgary '88, Albertville '92), Erica brought that same stamina and adaptability to teaching herself the art of fine jewelry from the ground up. No formal training, no shortcuts, just years at the bench until she'd mastered it.
What she's built is genuinely hard to categorize, which is exactly why we love it. Drawing from Medieval, Renaissance, and Victorian sources, she synthesizes history into something entirely her own: double-sided sterling silver and 18k gold charms engraved with motifs and sayings in Latin and Italian. Her hand-enameled pieces, made with traditional vitreous glass techniques, feature designs carrying themes of devotion, empowerment, friendship, and love. Every piece originates and is completed in her New York studio, by her own hands.
Erica is the rare designer who nails both the "wow, what IS that?" and the "I need to know what it says" in the same breath. If you're drawn to jewelry that carries a story, and carries it beautifully, she's your person.
