Everyone has their own image that comes to mind when they hear the word "brooch". A typical connotation is that of gaudy costume jewelry, attached to a grandmother bestowing you with wet smooches and pinched cheeks.
So what do you do when you come across a modern, elegant brooch? You play with it. Turns out, this historical type of adornment plays out in a wide range of versatility.
In the first of the three ways, we make a nod toward the ancient Greeks and Romans, using it for it's functional purposes: a scarf fastener.
Our second style is less casual, but perfect for that special occasion. We envision it as a bridal statement, or something of the like--as a hairpiece.
Now, considering the title of this post, we promised you three ways. To our surprise, and as is the nature of one-of-a-kind inventory, we sold this piece yesterday to a lovely gentlemen as a gift for his wife before we could capture our third styling! So we decided to have a little fun with PhotoShop to relay the third possibility of this brooch as a pendant.
Although this specific piece already has a happy home, we hope this gets your brain turning as to how you can make a piece of adornment your very own.
